BYRON (George Gordon, Lord).

Newark: printed and sold by S. and J. Ridge, 1807.

Without the half-title. A few spots and the text block has been cut slightly out of square by the binder. A good copy.

This issue may be distinguished from the first by the correction to "thunder" on p.114, line 4 and "The" on p.181, line 21. Page 171 is misnumbered 71 and p.22, line 2, reads "Those tissues of falsehood which Folly has wove".

This third collection of Byron's poems (published June 1807), a rearrangement of Poems on Various Occasions (January 1807), but with 12 further poems published here for the first time. The title-page classifies Byron as "A Minor" and it was his first regularly published book and the work which publically launched his literary career.

Ink inscription on front fly-leaf dated 1823 and ink stamps on rear endleaf dated 19 Feb. 1940.
