Gilson E53, for an edition dated 1881, printed by W. H. Smith & Son, as "Select Library of Fiction", No.187. This edition is undated, printed by Blacklock, as "Select Library of Fiction", No.163, according to the eight pages of advertisements at the end. Gilson refers to such a copy on NUC, but had not seen one, and nor had he seen a copy of E53 in an original binding.

A very good copy, with the half-title. Ink signature of Gwendolen R. Barrs at head of title, and booklabel.
