Anne Williamson was the wife of Sir Adam Williamson who was Captain General of St Domingo and Lieutenant Governor of Jamaica. The print was based on John Bacon's sculpture which stood in Spanish Town Cathederal, Jamaica.

A copy can be located in the British Museum, (museum number: 1865,0708.795), as well as the V&A, (accession number: E.449-20008).
