Lightly browned, and with the ink signature of Laetitia Ings, dated 1806 or 1808.
Originally priced at four pence. These are Tales 3 and 4 from Lemoine and Roe's Tell-Tale, or, Universal Museum series, a periodical specialising in short stories that were simultaneously sold as Gothic novellas, or bluebooks. Many of them were written by Sarah Wilkinson, but this remains unattributed. The only recorded copy is in the British Library.
