The Seasons; With a Poem to the Memory of Sir Isaac Newton. To which is Prefixed, an Account of his Life and Writings, by Dr. Samuel Johnson.
Engraved frontispiece and engraved additional title with vignette (both lightly foxed).
12mo. [145 x 87 x 12 mm]. 168pp. Bound in the original brown paper covered boards, with the title printed on the front, advertisements for Works Recently Published by Oliver & Boyd on the rear and the backstrip divided into six panels with the title and price 2s, plain endleaves, uncut edges. (Slightly rubbed and browned with minor crease in the backstrip).
Edinburgh: [printed and] published by Oliver & Boyd, Tweedale-Court; and sold by G. & W.B. Whittaker, London, 1824.
The engraved title has a strip of paper pasted to the head to conceal a signature, but the date 1826 is still visible. There is a further ownership inscription dated 1866 on the front free endleaf. A very good copy in the original printed boards.
